ALBANY -- The State Police will meet the new boss today, even as critics charge he's the same as the old boss -- at least when it comes to the growing scandal that has enveloped Gov. David Paterson and leadership of the approximately 5,000-member force.
With Harry Corbitt's abrupt retirement as State Police superintendent on Wednesday, his second-in-command, First Deputy Superintendent Pedro Perez, automatically takes the helm as acting superintendent until the governor nominates Perez or another candidate as permanent superintendent.
