INFANTICIDE, MENTAL ILLNESS ISSUES IN MURDER CASE.(CAPITAL REGION)

ALBANY -- Two of the most difficult issues in criminal justice -- infanticide and mental illness -- will be explored in depth during the trial of a woman accused of tossing her toddler into the Hudson River.

Senora L. Bolarinwa, charged with second-degree murder and first-degree manslaughter, is claiming insanity in a trial that begins Monday before Albany County Judge Larry J. Rosen.

Authorities say Bolarinwa, a mother of four, picked up her 26-pound youngest child on July 16, 1995, and threw him into the river. Officials said Bolarinwa killed the child, Remilekun Terodd Bolarinwa, after she and the father argued …
