WA:Footy dad guilty of assault, still coaches

A Perth father, convicted of assault after headbutting another parent who reprimanded
him for swearing at children during a junior football match, is still coaching a junior
team.

JAMES FREDERICK WILKES is on bail with a personal undertaking and will be sentenced
on September 7.

The Perth Magistrates Court found WILKES guilty of headbutting STEVEN O'HALLORAN after
a scuffle during their sons' under 12's football game on May 22 last year.

He continues to be an assistant coach at another team.

The West Australian Football Commission says it's disappointed when unacceptable behaviour
occurs, especially at junior football matches.
