NSW: Aquilina makes formal complaint about Fraser - report

Opposition MP ANDREW FRASER could be sacked from parliament following a formal complaint
from fellow New South Wales Labor MP JOHN AQUILINA.

In the written complaint to the clerk of parliament .. obtained by The Daily Telegraph
.. Mr AQUILINA asks that Mr FRASER'S actions be considered by the NSW parliamentary privileges
committee .. a body which has the power to remove MPs.

Mr FRASER was forced to resign from the opposition frontbench on Wednesday .. after
an incident involving fellow Nationals MP KATRINA HODGKINSON.

The paper says Mr FRASER pushed his colleague's arm away as she attempted intervene
in a heated exchange with Mr AQUILINA .. after a vote in the lower house late on Tuesday
night.

Mr AQUILINA .. the government's parliamentary leader .. says parliament should consider
the incident with the utmost gravity .. and must be held accountable for his actions and
dealt with accordingly.

The committee will consider the complaint .. and report back to parliament on the first
sitting day next year.
